The WarpZilla team has released Mozilla 1.0 GA (general availability) as of 06/05/2002. This is an update to WarpZilla 0.9.2 that Dave Watson demoed at the July 2001 SCOUG general meeting, and was mentioned in the May 2002 Mr. Know-It-All.

- A REXX script to integrate PMMail with WarpZilla was released as of

- MultiZilla 1.1.17 beta 2 has been released. This is an extension
that adds more features to the tabbed interface in Mozilla. Go to

An alpha version of WarpZilla 1.1a was released as of 06/12/2002. Go to ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.1a/. The file is mozilla-os2-vacpp-1.1a.zip. Also, there is a fix for WDGTOS2.DLL
that fixes the problem where pressing Enter or Alt caused CPU usage to go to 100%; get the fix at http://www.kaply.com/work/wdgt2.zip.
WarpVision was updated on 06/27/2002. It is a player for DivX3/DivX4
format video streams, with MP3/AC3 audio. The latest version has a
nice GUI interface, and no longer uses Odin and Win32 codecs. Go to

DFSee, which was demoed at the June 2001 SCOUG meeting, has been updated
to version 4.27 as of 06/24/2002. It is a FDISK, display, analysis and recovery tool for disks and filesystems. It now includes some JFS and LVM support. Go to

UpdCD version 2.1 has been released as of 06/23/2002. Some bug fixes and enhancements are included. It can be used to update the base Warp 4 (or Warp Server for e-Business) installation files with FixPaks, and supports the creation of updated installation diskettes. You can use the updated OS/2 image in combination with these diskettes to create new installations of OS/2 which already incorporate the FixPaks and other software. The source code for NewView version 1.37.7 is now available as of 06/07/2002. Use search key newview on Hobbes.
A port of the Linux BTTV driver (for BT8X8 TV cards) has been released as of 06/30/2002 (build 1143). A small radio application is included. Also available is the source (along with a LXAPI32 support driver for porting Linux drivers). Go to

DaniS506 version 1.4.5 has been released as of 06/19/2002. This is the replacement for IBM's IBM1S506 EIDE driver, which features support for many chipsets, PCCard controllers, busmastering, Ultra33-DMA, Ultra ATA-66, Ultra ATA-100, faster PIO due to 32-bit I/O, and much more. The tools for VIA 8233 motherboards (KT266A and some KT133 chipsets) that control CPU cooling and power management have been updated as of 06/17/2002. Use search key 8233cool on Hobbes.
Apache versions 1.2.26 & 2.0.39, the premier web servers of the Internet, have been released as of 06/18/2002. Some security problems have been fixed. For info, go to http://silk.apana.org.au/apache/apache_v2.shtml.

IBM has updated the BIOS for the Thinkpad T23 as of 06/11/2002. Go to ftp://ftp.pc.ibm.com/pub/pccbbs/mobiles/spsd1a55.exe.
CDR/RW Wizard version 1.0 beta 8 was released as of 06/13/2002. It is a GUI wizard interface to CDRecord/2 to burn CDR/CDRW (data, audio, etc.). It now features BootWizard for creating bootable CD's, and CDRDAO/2. Go to http://www.quasarbbs.net/rocco/cdrwiz.wpi. NOTE: You need WarpIn to install.
The P6 / K7 MTRR (Memory Type Range Registers) management package has been updated to version 0.08a as of 06/19/2002. This is a device driver that can manage MTRR's of Intel P6 / AMD K7 series processors. It includes VFBWC.EXE, which uses MTRR write-combining for the video frame buffer; this can often improve graphic performance, especially DIVE. Go to

If you still have a Number Nine video card (with an S3 Trio64 chip) and are still running OS/2 version 2.1x or Warp 3/Warp Connect BLUE spine (i.e. with Win-OS/2 built-in), there is an updated driver at Hobbes as of 06/03/2002. Use search key trioos2.
A new release of FAT32.IFS was made available as of 06/08/2002. This will allow you to access FAT32 partitions. Go to
ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/fat32/. NOTE: According to Klaus Staedtler, there is no documentation included, so there is no idea as to what was
fixed or new features. Use at your own risk.
Drivers for the Epson Stylus C60/C70/C80 series printers were released by IBM Japan as of 06/05/2002. Go to ftp://ftp.jp.ibm.com/pub/pspj/os2ddpak/printers/epomn5us.zip.,

Drivers for the National Semiconductor DP83820 & DP83815 network cards were released as of 06/25/2002. For the DP83820, use search key dp82x on

The Network Interface Card Pak (NICPak) has been updated as of 06/14/2002.
This is a collection of various NIC drivers and a tool for detecting and installing them. Go to

SIO version 2.03 is now available as of 06/06/2002. SIO is the famous replacement serial port drivers that usually work better than the ones that come standard with OS/2. Go to

A command-line MPEG-1/MPEG-2 player (version 1.05) was released on 06/02/2002. It has MMX, SMP, and EnDIVE support, with restricted support for .AVI files. It requires the EMX run-time. Go to

Gphoto2 was updated as of 06/04/2002. It is the GNU digital camera application, which now has support for USB cameras. It now supports 112 cameras; check the list to see if your camera is supported. Go to ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/gphoto/gphoto2.wpi. NOTE: You need WarpIn to install.
Subtitler version 1.2 was released as of 06/04/2002. This shows subtitles while playing .AVI files with WarpMedia or WarpVision. Use search key subtitler on

CW-Multimedia classes version 0.2.2 were released on 05/30/2002. These classes are for seamless integration of the MMIO procedures for .MP3 and OGG files; after installation, OGG and .MP3 files are treated the same way by the WPS as the other audio files, with icons and menus.

T&V HappyPlayer version 1.13 was released as of 06/15/2002. This is a PM application that operates TV cards built on the Brooktree BT848 chip. It now includes nVidia card support. Go to

eComStation Maintenance Tool 1.10.0 (release candidate) was released as

Warp GoGo version 1.0 has been released as of 06/14/2002. It is a MP3 encoder for OS/2 with a graphical interface. Go to

Crossfader plug-in for PM123 version 1.5 was released as of 06/21/2002.
It fades out the currently playing song while fading in the next song.

z! has been updated to version 2.6 beta 2 as of 06/16/2002. It is a
text-mode MP3 player that can handle streaming audio (Shoutcast), and

OpenWatcom, which was part of the June 2002 SCOUG general meeting, is

YADTV/2 version 2.1 has been released as of 06/16/2002. This version supports the use of the OS2ENDIVE hardware video accelerator driver for the display of the TV image, and there is a Media Control Device driver for MMOS2. Data Representations, who presented Simplicity for Java at the August 2000 SCOUG general meeting, has updated Simplicity to version 1.2.6a as of 06/13/2002. It features: full support of AWT and Swing; import any JavaBeans; programmer's editor; new Canvas Composer; dynamic Classpath editor; auto package-naming; and new Code Sourcerer options. Go to

C-Side version 5.0 beta was released as of 06/28/2002. It is a CD label

Odin Tool version 0.5.2 was released as of 07/01/2002. It allows you to install Odin zip files comfortably, and keep configuration settings. Use search key odintool on
