I installed the Warp 3.0 IAK upgrade last night.
(W3IAKU2A.zip from Hobbes.)
It speeds up the initialization of the PPP driver before it starts to
dial, where before it would waste a lot of time trying to figure out
the host (I think it was) before realizing it didn't need this
information, and just go on and dial the system.
It also added a PPPTERM.EXE to the already present SLIPTERM.EXE.
I did one experimental dial in, before I added the upgrade,
using SLIPTERM, so I think I understand the use of these programs -
stepping through, by hand, the initialization of the dialed in
TCP/IP connection, to find out what is really needed.
There is also a program SIIPWAIT.EXE under my TCPIP directory,
and I've also seen mention of a PPPWAIT.EXE program (which I don't
seem to have, even after installing the upgrade.)
What are these for? Do they do anything besides just click of the
tine parameter they take from the command line?
