Subject: SCOUG-General: Keeping passwords secret in REXX

Content Type: text/plain

Does anybody know whether there's a way in OS/2 REXX to make a password
appear as ******* when it's typed on the screen and to capture what was
actually entered? As near as I can see translate() applies to changing
the string. Any ideas?

All of this is in pursuit of my mission to beat gte.net's dialup process
into submission. I just want to pass the password along without its
echoing on my screen.

Thanks in advance.
