Even if you could install without the GUI (which you can't), this would be a show stopper.
I think you have to take two steps forward (install w/gui), then one step back (setting
shell to CMD.EXE).
Is the issue space? Or something else?
Here's an interesting question, but now sure how well if at all it would work,... how about
using a program like "bootos2" and use the install the PM option! This would give him a
minimal maintanance installation WITH a GUI interface.
