A few of us got together on the new #SCOUG chat channel last week. It was
interesting, and we think it shows a lot of promise for furthering the aims of
our club and the needs of our members. We're thinking of beginning recurring
meetings on the internet.
Please send me your ideas and preferences for how we should do this.
The current concept is to meet at 7 PM Tuesday evenings for an hour or so.
We'll have a planned agenda, with a couple of prepared topics, and time for Qs
and As, and some chat. You'll have to bring your own cookies.. See the
Internet SIG Meeting web page for details at
http://users.deltanet.com/users/dwatson/meeting.html, or go to the ISIG site
from SCOUG and hit the "Meetings" tab.
I can't meet this Tuesday, due to it being a date which is important to my
wife. Those of you with an interest might want to go to Webbnet and try it out.
In fact, the #scoug channel is available all the time, in case anyone wants to
set up a special purpose meeting. But since we're benefitting from the good
graces and friendly dispositions of the hosts at VOICE and Webbnet, please mind
your manners at all times.
Next meeting: Tuesday, December 8th, 7-8 PM PST. If other days or times or
topics suit you better, please respond to the list and we'll resolve on the best
time for the most people.
