Subject: SCOUG-General: Help: Install problem on new SCSI system

Content Type: text/plain

Hi,

Has anyone seen a trap error message that reads "c000009b", followed by
all the memory register information?

I'm trying to install Warp Server Advanced on a new computer system that
has an Adaptec 2940 U2W SCSI adapter on the ASUS motherboard. The disk
drive is a 9GB IBM U2W SCSI hd. There is a Trident AGP video card w/ 8MB
of RAM.

I made copies of the two boot diskettes, and modified them (and the
config.sys) to include the new Adaptec AIC78U2.add device driver. OS/2
can recognize the SCSI controller and operate the SCSI CD-ROM and the hd.
When I started the installation, I partitioned the drive to only have one
2GB partition at the beginning of the drive. The installation continued
until it rebooted itself somewhere in the middle of Warp Server's MPTN
installation, which I think may be normal. But after that reboot, I get
the "c000009b" trap screen and have to C-A-D to reboot. I can ALT-F1 and
get to a command prompt, navigate the hd and navigate the CD-ROM.

My HD is set to SCSI ID#0, and is at the end of the SCSI ribbon. The SCSI
ribbon has a SE/LVD SCSI Terminator installed at the very end of the
ribbon. HD is connected to the U2W controller while the CD-ROM is
attached to the Fast SCSI controller.

If anyone can offer any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.

TIA,
Patrick

(btw, I took it back to the company I purchased the system from and they
were able to install NT4 WS on the system w/o a problem. So the system
seems to work, just not with OS/2 at the moment.)
