Are the bi-directional capabilities of your 5700 turned off?
I couldn't make mine install through a switch, but did get it running
after I plugged it into LPT1. So I am planning to try to run it via the
switch after turning the bidi off. So far as I can see that just stops
low ink (and maybe some other) messages.
Part of the reasoning behine turning off the bi-directional capability is
the fact that my Panasonic dot matrix installed through the switch.
On another subject the Lexmark manual says that the printer supports the
PCL3 used by HP's Deskjet 500's. I understand that the Laserjet II family
supports PCL4 and III and 4 families support PCL5. Have you successfully
installed any HP Laserjet drivers supplied by OS2 from the latter families
on your 5700?
