Hi, Peter -
I'm on the road (again) and don't have my TCP/IP book handy. But the
real issue is that you'll want to keep the chunks coming in to buffers
small. If you have them gigantic or even large, the amount of retries
winds up using up the same amount of time as smaller buffers. So, it's
a situation of you lose and you lose. You also want to keep the buffers
relatively small.
If you're still in this spot when I get back on Wednesday, let me know
and I'll get the exact information.
HTH.
