I just called PacBell to get DSL service at three different addresses.
PacBell says that two are "okay" and one is "too far".
A number of people have told me how far they are from their telephone
central office, but the PacBell telephone reps don't have that info.
Where can I get the distance from the C.O. to the third address?
Thanks.
- Peter
P.S. PacBell will soon offer "Long Reach" (aka IDSL or ISDN-DSL) service
for those "too far" addresses. One rep told me it's ISDN without any
minute charges and available Nov. 1, another told me it's 144 kb/s DSL
and available Dec. 1. Both reps were in the same PacBell office.
