The preview version is being sold at Mensys in Neitherland and here in

I like OS/2 because I don't need to throw away my many old DOS and
Windows 3.1 programs. I can use them without rebooting OS/2 machine.
I got lost in Linux because it wasn't as graphical as OS/2 and I didn't
know how to install it.
I want to upgrade to eComStation because it is significantly cheaper
than $1,600 warpserver for e-business but still gives me Journaling File
System and other bonus like Lotus Smartsuite 1.51, Destktop on Call.
HPFS is fine but it is a pain to wait each time it does chkdsk for
improper power shut off. Journaling File System is quicker in this
area.
Thanks for your offer of Win2k. I don't trust advanced Microsoft
systems after Windows 3.1. They try to write to BIOS, reserved areas of
hard drives, change hard drive's volume. Win2k destroys bootmanager,
Partition Magic 5 makes extended partitions of fat16/hpfs unseenable,
unusable except in Microsoft system only.
I like OS/2 stability. I can punish my scanner with high resolution/big
files in OS/2 with no problem but not in Windows.
In conclusion, my os/2 version 4 is adequate for my use and you may be
satisfied with your setups, but I just want a little step up and willing
to pay for it.

Subject: SCOUG-General: RE:EComStation PRO Upgrade
when is eComStation supposed to come out? Where can I find info?
Also, (hypothetically) why would I bother to get a glorified OS/2
operating
system when Linux is free and getting better every day? I even have some
POS
copies of Win2k. What's so great about eComStation (beyond rumors, of
course)?
