Editorial

In Support of John Hlavac

John Hlavac is a member of the SCOUG Board. John was also
our Election Committee Chairman, but no longer.

Hlavac resigned that position at the SCOUG Board Meeting
last Wednesday night. He's still on the Board, but he's no
longer the person searching for candidates for our March
election.

With the unknowns involved in SCOUG's kaput corporate
status, and specifically any liabilities which Board members
might some day face, the question John kept pondering was
quite clear: push warm bodies towards the March election
slate, or protect them from running into the street.

In the end, Hlavac chose the high road, the proper road,
the singular action which could protect any uninformed
member who chose to seek a Board position. He did what he
had to do to keep the new candidates safe. So to John
Hlavac we say loudly and clearly: thank you.
