These are quoted-printable (QP) artifacts. You will seen them if then
sending mailer is defective and sends malformed QP messages or if the
receiving mailer is defective and does not properly interpret the message
headers that indicate QP content.

I'd have to see an unsullied orginal of the message, including all
headers, to know which is the case. FWIW, I don't recall seeing
misinterpreted QP in Svobi's messages, but then again, it may have just
not bothered to remember this.
