I went north before heading south and took a couple of side trips alon the
way so my return was later than most.
My impression was the turnout was better than I expected and I saw some
folks that I had not expected to be there. There were a significant
number of first time attendees. I suspect location played a part in this.
There were almost too many presentations. I missed a few that I would
have like to see.
Innotek was a major presenter as was Oliver Mark of IBM Global Services
and what they had to say was not at all unexpected. There was really
nothing in their presentations that had not appeared piecemeal elsewhere.
The good news that I got from Oliver's presentation is that there appears
to be sufficient demand for USB support from IBM's corporate customers so
that USB support will continue to improve. One item that remains somewhat
of an unknow quantity is ACPI support. There's nothing announced by IBM.
I missed the virtual PC presentation, but assuming the project comes to
fruition as planned, it will be nice to again have an available, OS/2
hosted virtual PC product.
