I now build two or three a year just because I can't resist a deal.
Most of those deals are because they are "last weeks parts". The life
cycle on hardware is so short that by the time you speced, built and
tuned the new box, the parts would no longer be available.
Except for the ECS K7VTA3 MB that Fry's has been pushing for months.
But our favorite 8139 NIC that they sold for $3-$7; gone.
