It is not new, but I just ran across this:
http://www=2Equasarbbs=2Enet/ftp2/
The names behind the initials may be familiar to you, though probably not
to me=2E This is a (perhaps not uncommon) sort of unfortunate development=
,
these days=2E Even though I don't think I even knew of this particular ft=
p
repository, I recall this fellow in Italia -- M=2E A=2E Carlo, I believe -=
-
having this exhaustive, voluminous website that just went on and on, such
that it actually took quite a while to load=2E Frankly, I don't especiall=
y
care (should I ?) if a lot of it was assembled from other sources=2E We'r=
e a
vanishing breed anyway, so I say: the more the merrier=2E It just makes
stuff more available, and enhances the chances of finding something we
happen to be searching for=2E (I could give you some examples of stuff yo=
u
won't find easily=2E) Gives us some redundancy, when one or more of the
important sites happens to be down for awhile, which does happen=2E Now i=
t
seems to ALL be gone, not just the ftp collection=2E I, for one, will mis=
s
having Mr=2E Carlo on the 'Net=2E
