It's the difference between how postscript works vs. other methods of printing. The
postscript code goes from the computer to the postscript interpreter/memory in the
printer itself, which then prints a page after it has all the code. Thus the memory
requirements, and 'lag time' between when you hit print and the printer actually prints.
