Yo! Forgot that. Swung the video cable hot over to the next machine (I
*love* breaking rules) and the wavies were still there, so it's not the
card. I wiggled the cable in various places but my cable wiggles didn't
change the screen wiggles, and physically moving the cable to the other
machine didn't change the wiggles so it's not interference. Swapping
the video cable was a true treasure hunt -- the video switch box cable
is M-F not M-M, the monitors on all the other systems have hardwired
video cables, and so were the video cables on the spare monitors until I
pulled down the very last one (of course) which had a connector. Tried
it but the wavies didn't change.
Sony service center is 10833 Valley View in Cypress, just a few minutes
northeast of Sundial in Seal Beach. I'll call them tomorrow and see
what their turnaround is. There are several independent monitor shops
around and they're probably cheaper and quicker; I'll call them tomorrow
too.
