It's not a period.  It's probably a NULL (i.e. 0x00).  Most .INI editors 
display this as a period so it's probaby correct. 
The code I got for PMDLL is a bit weak in error reporting.  It's good 
about saying what failed, but bad about saying why.  It's only my list to 
fix, but not today.

Rename the key from SYSMONO to SYSMONOX.  This will get PMDLL past this 
error.  You can rename it back to SYSMONO when you are done with PMDLL. 
We will track down why PMDLL's failing later, unless the failure goes away 
when your video problems do.
