Yup, Ben and Sandy both already told you that it's probably the power
supply fan. I agree it's a fan, although I've had power supply fans
_and_ cpu fans screech.
I first disassemble and clean the fan, and if that doesn't work I
replace it; never tried lubing it like Sandy suggests. WD40 or light
"sewing machine" oil or silicone spray should work. But go easy -- you
don't want it to drip after you turn your system back on. When I _do_
lube something I put the lube on a cotton swap as an applicator. A tiny
tiny amount is all you should need, one whole drop is probably too much.
