For Peter's beep loop, use:

rexxtry call beep 200, 60000

That will give you a minute of noise.

You might check the spec's. There's always a chance that the MB requires
a lower impedance speaker to reduce the power requirements. If you have a
meter, you can check the output voltage while the beep loop is active.
