Thanks to Peter, Sandy, & Ben for the suggestions. I will attempt the lube procedure if this continues,
for sure if it gets worse. However, that 4+ yr. old power supply (a PC Power & Cooling) is due to be
replaced -- along with several other components -- probably within a matter of weeks. Hopefully,
whatever is "protesting" will last long enough. My case is rather tricky to open and re-close, and I'm
not all that adept with h/w stuff, at least anything beyond reseating cards. Right now, I'm a bit more
concerned that my system backup options have been reduced to CDR only. I'd like to find someone who can
arrange a good cleaning of the capstans and rollers of my DDS-2 DAT, or I may have to take a shot at it
myself.
