If you are responding to someone asking for help who
may not be a member of this list, be sure to use the
REPLY TO ALL feature of your email program.

Sandy,
Peter and Steven are both right. You should regularly backup (once a
week??) and restore your OS2.INI and OS2SYS.INI files, if and when
required, as the best solution to your problem. I also backup the
desktop files (C:\Desktop\*.* in my case).
However, it is also likely you are getting quite a bit of corruption
periodically in these files. It could be that you are changing your
system configuration and setup up a lot and that's causing a lot of
orphans in OS2.INI. I suggest you use UniMaint.exe, checkini.exe and
cleanini.exe to regularly cleanup the OS2.INI file (you need all 3).
I've been doing that regularly and I have not had to restore my OS2*.INI
files in a long time. I often make changes on my system.
Hope that helps!!
HCM
