I'm currently running at ESS 1868 sound card. I'm thinking about replacing
this card with a more current technology. I would like to know the good -- and
bad -- experiences any of you have had with sound cards in your systems.

Should I look for a card containing Crystal chips? Is something else better?
What kind of driver issues will I encounter?
