Yesterday I got cable. I have an SMC7004BR Barricade router, and an
SB4001 Surfboard modem. Under W95, after going thru setup a few times,
it took a call to SMC tech support to get it connected. The fix was to
reboot modem, router and computer.
To get connected under OS/2, all I did was: SYSTEM SETUP > TCP/IP
Configuration (LAN) > NETWORK > Enable Interface > Automatically, using
DHCP. Netscape with mail works fine.
Questions:
What is SENDMAIL and how and why is it now loaded? TCP/IP > Autostart
service is not checked.
Neither AUTOGET/2 or AUTOWGET seem to be able to recognize a cable
connection. Is this to be expected? Are there any similar download
utilities that can work?
TY
Ray
