As I understand it it's a philosophy thing. RSJ doesn't
think you should be using your expensive CD-writer for
the ordinary and mundane task of reading CDs. This was
probably true even a short while ago, but seems less
of an issue today.
Since RSJ mounts your CD as a drive letter, there is
the added complication of perhaps trying to do two things
with the same drive at the same time. I remember reading
this in docs for earlier versions, but was unable to find
the reference in current documentation. As I recall, it's
easy to change, requiring only a small edit to config.sys
and a reboot.
