It's always a plus if one can include a link with mentions like
this, since
we are not all necessarily search whizzes. Better yet, any
desirable item
mentioned here should automatically become a candidate for
inclusion
on a forthcoming CD of the Month.

then, Peter wrote:

UnixOS2.org.

Actually, it was there on LEO, at

http://archiv.leo.org/pub/comp/os/os2/leo/gnu/doc/

but I've found that navigating the LEO archives is more of an art
than a
science. I don't think they have a decent search mechanism
within their
site(s), but downloading the big Feb. '02 list of LEO archive
files is the
next best thing. You'd be surprised how many times I have to
make the
rounds of Hobbes, LEO, Norloff etc. to find some item that only
one of
them turns out to have.

Norloff does have a searchbox, but I've found it to be quite
fallible. On
many occasions, it has brought up zero hits, but the _exact_ file
you were
searching for *is* found when you either scan down the list of
files in
one of the sub-categories, or do a word search in Norloff's
ALLFILES
list, which I like to d/l a fresh copy of about every 3 or 4
months.

Finally, a minor Misc. gripe: every time someone feels the
(dubious)
need to upload a screenshot or somesuch (as in the 4/15 edition),
I get
about 125K of gobbledygook character stream that must be removed,

and which causes NS to choke & die if I attempt any direct
replies to
other messages contained therein. It would be great if there was
some
way I could filter such uploads out of the digest I receive of
this List.
