After working reliably for over a year, my thinkpad (TP760E) will not
boot OS/2 (MCP, LVM, HPFS). It gets past boot manager, the OS/2 splash,
and then
displays:
"OS/2 is unable to operate your HD or diskette drive. The system is
stopped.
Correct the preceding error and restart the system."
I can boot to a command line. Ran Unimaint sysrestr--no better.
Ran DFSEE CHECK and got the logfile,
Display sector table in verbose format.

The log shows 4 errors, one of which may (?) be significant--the error
in NPAPROT.CNV.
I hope this is a rescueable situation. Any advice or suggestions very
much appreciated.
