Hi Ray,
thanks for your quick reply with interesting question and
suggestion ;-)
I will put my answers into your text !

create.
Yes, I know but I do not experiment or play with various OS'es.
My main OS is OS/2 Warp Version 4 FP 15.
>And they will coexist with Win9x in the only primary; C:. If
you make

Here are 3 PC's and all have the same topography:
My wife's system and my notebook are set to start with OS/2 in
their
bootmanagers and we do swap to W98 only if really necessary i.e.
for
some very special applications. My power system is having the 2
(PROD and TEST) in primary parttitions but no WIN stuff ;-)
All these systems are connected with P2P and do share a color
printer
on a SMC Barricade Router's parallel port. The router also
connects
all PC's to the internet with a (512/128) Cable Modem.
Your hint with C: FAT is interesting, exspecially since the
BIOS'es
cannot be flashed anymore with floppies ;-(
I have reconsidered but postponed this C: FAT sokution because
first I
want to synchronize the HW of all the systems. With more
synchronized
HW I have to do one system installation only for all the PC's.
This identical system installation will be saved on to a 1.3GB MO
disk.
So I install from there whenever I need it ;-)
>There is one dumb trick that can get you into trouble; allow a
Win
>utility to mess with your OS/2 partitions. Don't ask how I know.
I do not ask how ;-) but very important:
I do all my system maintenance with OS/2 only !!
I do not use ugly WIN stuff to destroy and waste my systems !
>However, I have for years used DOS Norton Speed Disk, running
under real
>DOS to defrag OS/2 FAT partitions.
HW specs have changed very intensively in the past years and I am
not
familiar anymore how and which DOS tool to use today ;-(
So I do not risk anything ;-)
