Do an iptrace on a very short print. Read the trace (thru ipformt) and see if the driver is telling
the printer it is using PCL.
Shortly after the handshaking (ack bits on in two or three to and fro messages) there should be a
large sized message to the printer that sets up the printer. Mine, both PCL and Postscript, send
things as the file name of the document, margins, resolution, etc. including the language agreed on
(for my printers PCL or Postscript).
