A very good tool and "must have" to view bitmaps is:
PMView
Get it and you have a reliable viewer and together with
Twain CfM you also are able to scan with some scanners ;-)

Nothing is corrupted. You just haven't configured the various
applications or installed everything you need. OS/2 in not like
WinXX.
Don't assume that something will get installed, just because.
FWIW, lots
of OS/2 users running line of business applications have no need
for
viewing JPG's.
