Hi
The fact that an Ethernet Print Server works on WINdoze does not
mean
that it has to work with OS/2 !!!

Here I got running an NETgear PS113 with OS/2 ...
... but it was somewhat tricky !!

You need to find out the exact nomenclatura used by the unit !

In my case it looks like following:

The unit has a device name given by the manufacturer and
it's on a label on its bottom. The ports connecting to printers
are P1, P2 and P3.

The unit's IP address and the device name are used with the
settings in TCPcfg(2) under the tab "Printing".

The properties of the respective printer in my case looks like
following:

- slpr.jpg

To find out hese hidden parameters and settings you need
to access the unit with Telnet and investigate and search
these values: I was very lucky to have a helpful friend ;-)

Cheers, svobi

Subject: SCOUG-Help: SLPR print problem

Do an iptrace on a very short print. Read the trace (thru
ipformt) and see if the driver is telling
the printer it is using PCL.

Shortly after the handshaking (ack bits on in two or three to and
fro messages) there should be a
large sized message to the printer that sets up the printer.
Mine, both PCL and Postscript, send
things as the file name of the document, margins, resolution,
etc. including the language agreed on
(for my printers PCL or Postscript).
