Hey, thanks. Good info.
> I've always liked Quantum and IBM,
Western Digital is rumoured to be in the middle of a planned exit from
the hard drive industry. Maxtor is 5400 rpm which is good and bad
(quieter plus mature technology which some feel is less likely to fail,
but slower and reports are that they _do_ fail more although the latter
might just be due to a large share of the market). Quantum was sold to
Maxtor a while back.
That leaves IBM which is generally considered very, very good (and a
little, but not much, more expensive). Maybe I'll try some IBM drives.
Thanks, Steven.
