I'm changing over my home office network over to DHCP
(from fixed IP) to accommodate a new laptop which
comes home at night (from wife's school office).

The SMC7004BR router, Windows/laptop changeover went easily,
but the W4 FP 12/15 machine won't acquire a lease.

Are there some DHCP fixes I should install?
 (& URLs if possible).

The W4 machine has been running fixed IP for about 2 years.
I expected that switching to DHCP would be fairly
straightforward, since the machine already runs fixed IP.
What have I missed?
