The specs on the 20x10x40, model CRW2200SZ,
have a lot to recommend them.

Two things in particular:

1) Dual E-IDE/SCSI interface. I've never seen this before,
but there it is! CD-R/W for the indecisive!

2) The first model with "SafeBurn" technology, presumably an answer
to the "BurnProof" technology in Plextor and others. An 8MB buffer
makes it a lot less likely that you'll ever need it,

I, too, have (2) Yamaha 4416s that I'm mostly happy with. But I'd
readily consider the Yamaha 2200 now that they've finally offered
an alternative to "BurnProof". And the 8MB buffer is _very_ comforting.

I found this model for under $200 on PriceWatch.
