You're saying there is a later, bugfix version. If so, it is
probably on a SCOUG monthly cd. The last one I bought was 11/01,
and this looks like it has a 6/01 build of Communicator. This is
probably the latest one issued. I did not notice anything in
the APAR list for it that clearly applied to the symptoms I
described, but may give this a try.

Interesting. That's pretty much the way I _hoped_ it worked.
I'll try that on the latest recalcitrant mail folder. What I
did before was block extract the NS "disappeared" mail with
ZTree, and drop it into a new, Temp folder, sans any index . . .
which must amount to the same thing. It all came back, visible
to NS.
