I am using Warp 4 fp15 level on my D: disk, which is a scsi device. I kee=
p
encountering a hang during the boot process. Generally another boot attem=
pt
or two will get me past it, but it happens so often that it's getting to =
be
a PITA. =
After the b & w listing of config.sys statements there is a lengthy blank=
blue screen period, during which a small error screen for network request=
or
shows up (as is normal for my system because I generally don't have the
server machine running), followed by some more blue screen, during which
the hard drive(s) can be heard busily seeking, then a short spell of
silence (about 6 to 8 seconds), then more hard drive activity as the blue=
screen gives way to the desktop screen. =
I keep hanging up on that silent period, the hard drive activity doesn't
resume, and so the blue screen stays up and I never get the desktop. Neve=
r
seems to be a problem booting Win95 off the C: disk (ide device), so I
might suspect a hardware problem with the D: disk... but then, I reason, =
the bootup and config.sys files are coming off the D: disk so it doesn't
seem that D: could be the problem. =
Anybody have any tips on how to troubleshoot this problem?
Thanks,
Wayne
