That's why I indicated some extra clarity (for us non-cognoscenti) about which kernel is appropriate for what
OS/2 platform would be very welcome. I've never been that good at interpreting IBM-speak.

Well, at one of those stops (an ftp site, I think), I saw 3 archives with very unfamiliar names. The contents
of each were 2 or 3 large files whose names meant nothing to me. If there had been a Readme laying around, I
would have consulted it.

I started out with 14.088_W4, dated 2-13-02. The sorry state I'm at right now I will cover in another post.

If I understood Tony correctly, this was the kernel from MCP FP2. I'd like to I.D. the kernel files from FP1
and the GA release of ECS . . . because I've gone forward about as far as I can go, *with no joy*, so maybe
it's time to go backwards. Probably wouldn't get too much worse. I may need instructions on how to extract
the kernel files from the ECS GA cd's.

No, I don't know better than he does. Just call it a gut feeling, one that did not prove out.

Yup, I definitely took a wrong turn (or two) somewhere, and wound up perusing a rather out-of-date list. I
went back yesterday, got to the right place, and d/l'd a whole buncha stuff, including the new UDF driver.

Thanks. I picked up 14.089c from the ECS site, and Svobi was kind enough to send me 14_089e. I had hoped
that these would give me some more clues as to what is going on, even if they failed to solve the problems,
but that is now looking more in doubt.
