Steven has already replied, but if you still want to give it a try . . .

Blue box includes the code that runs Windows 3.x programs. Red box does
*not* include the Windows 3.x code -- if you install it along with a
copy of Microsoft Windows 3.x then it's essentially the same as the Blue
box.

The Blue box "Windows" is supposedly less buggy than Red box + Microsoft
Windows because IBM fixed a number of bugs in the Microsoft Windows code
and recompiled it for the Blue box release.

Get the Blue box. :)

When you install it, remember to update the drivers on the installation
floppies *and* apply the last Warp 3 fixpak as soon as you have it
installed.

As for the Compaq LTE Elite laptop target machine, you might need a
couple of additional tweaks (I've even had to tweak things when
installing DOS on old Compaq's). There's a web site devoted to
installing OS/2 on laptops called Notebook/2 (Dr. Martinus). The url
