Exactly. It happens on enough systems that I recommend not doing it.

Nothing simple. It's a sign of some subtle corruption in the WPS, but
there's no easy way for an end-user to track it down.
You might try reviewing OS2.INI and OS2SYS.INI and removing classes and
templates to you don't believe you need. The applications to check are:
PM_WorkPlace:IplLoad
PM_WorkPlace:Restart
PM_WorkPlace:Templates
FolderWorkAreaRunningObjects
Beware that removing the wrong items came be dangerous to your Desktop, so
have a backup.
Also, if you use WarpCenter, move the startup from config.sys to the
Startup Folder can help, in some cases.
