At that point in time I was having problems with the Hardware Manager. I
could not set it to "Full Hardware Detection" and have it successfully
boot my system. It was getting hung on something in my SNOOP.LST file. I
therefore was working/modifying the SNOOP.LST file to get rid of the
offending references.

My only means of knowing that I was successful was to get a successful
bootup with "Full Hardware Detection". However, it the bootup was not
successful, I had to return the Hardware Manager to "No Detection" in
order to bootup. You can do that my hitting ALT-F1 (or is it ALT-F2????)
during the bootup to bring up a menu. However, often times my system
would blow right past ALT-F1. I would not be able to get the menu and
change the hardware manager. The result was an unsuccessful boot. I had
to have a sure way (read that to include an "easy way") of changing the
Hardware Manager back to "No Detection". Hence a batch file on my OS/2
boot diskettes.
