Thanks, Rocky. You filled in some holes in my knowledge.

If the activity light flashes during the time I'm not using the net (computers on or off) is an
indication of my neighbors' activity, them I'm in good shape. This is born out by my seldom
experiencing slowdowns in response including downloading.

FWIW, download speeds usually range between 20 and 50 K bytes per second as reported by IPSpeed. The
highest I've logged was 120 kB/s. That is approaching T1 bit rates of 1.5 Mb/s.

One of my favorite stories is when I DL'd Star Office from Germany about two years ago. It was an 80
MB DL. I started it and thought that will take a while so I went to finish watching a football game.
I checked on progress 15 min. later (a time out) and the DL was done. I don't know where in the 15
min. it finished but the result was way cool.
