It appears that you are booted to eCS when running chkdsk. If so, the
errors make sense, the drive is locked and in use. Try booting to the eCS
install CD and run chkdsk from there.
Also, did you install the recommended JFS updates when you installed eCS?
If not, you should. To install them, you need to backup your JFS
partition, install the updates, reformat the partition and restore your
data.
