I've been waiting for feedback on the results of your dfsee testing. 
I will not I found a way to trap in hpfs.dll in the Thinkpad.  I was 
experimenting with Dani506.add and got a couple of traps and wierd hangs.  
Backing out to ibm1s506 brought the system back to normal.  Eventually I 
will try again with more conservative settings that the danis defaults.  
You might consider trying some similar detuning. 
I presume you reseated all the connectors and cards already.
