A START command using the /B background switch such as:
START "TITLE NAME" /B somepgm
starts a program in the background (*not* minimized) but doesn't seem to
work for all programs. For example, e.exe will start in the background
but epm.exe won't:
start "test e.exe" /b e
start "test epm.exe" /b epm
Perhaps some of these programs pop themselves to the foreground on
startup.
