This morning I booted up, ran Unimaint Repair and then rebooted. My
associations were almost totally gone; for example, type "text" and
*.txt files would only open in Netscape, the associations to e.exe and
epm.exe were all gone. Likewise, Mesa 2 (*.m2) files would only open as
a Properties window, the link to mesa.exe was gone. Also, many of my
Desktop folders were empty (for example, Programs and OS/2 System). The
fix was simple, I just restored OS2*.INI from my backup. (Didn't have
to restore the Desktop.)
What I want to know is *what* to avoid when running Unimaint Repair to
keep this from happening. I ran three different selections:
Do All WPS, PM and File Handle Repairs
Do All Individual INI File Repairs
Do Aggressive File Handles Repair
What should I avoid when running Unimaint Repair to keep my associations
and Desktop folders from being zapped?
