For those of us who must keep a copy of win, but consider it more of a
necessary accessory than an OS, and don't want to learn any more about
it or spend any more money on it than we have to, any suggestions on how
to back up and restore C:\.

I used winzip to to create a zip of the entire drive. I used Info-Zip
unzip to restore. I believe I used "unzip zipc.zip -d C:\".

The only problem seemed to be that the long file names of the
subdirectories had been truncated. I browsed the zip file using File
Commander/2, and saw long file names, so apparently they were captured.
FC/2 can see long file names but is not able to write them to FAT.
