The IBM drivers should be OK for a 20GB drive. You'll know soon enough.

One benefit of using Dani's drivers is that you can use the supplied
DiskInfo tool to get a good idea of what support the BIOS has.

A format should take care of that. The bad sectors should get mapped out.
