I only use dial-up when the Pac Bell DSL is down (kept a modem hooked
up for just that eventuality), but, contrary to what you seem to be saying
here, I've continuously sent email on my ELN account without a hitch,
from well before 12/2000 to the present.

I know you mentioned the "headlines" re doing this, at Tony's, but in order
to follow through on this, I'm afraid I'm going to need more of a step by
step. At the moment, I don't have sufficient provocation to try to bypass the
Pac Bell or ELN mail servers, though the How To might be good info to have
on hand. I probably _will_ want a good substitute (free or low cost) for their
severely compromised news servers. I think you said I need to install something,
and maybe subscribe to something else ?

While we're on the general subject, I'm seriously leaning towards switching my
email client from NS to either MR2/Ice or Polarbar. Both of these apparently
now have a utility for converting existing NS mail folders and their contents
over to their native formats. Part of my decision may rest on how well the
respective utilities actually do this. Another factor may be which of these will
work with JunkSpy.
