Hi Jack
it seems that your mixed installations and upgrade experiments
strived
your INI files already !

My suggestion would be:
Just delete all your UniMaint directory and files everywhere on
your system !!
Get your system cleaned properly with multiple CheckINI runs !!!

Then you do, after one or some reboots, a new installation of
UniMaint into
your system partition,

May I express a hint ?
Each of my systems contain a directory called WS (Workstation) in
the root.
All workstation specific data and folders are kept and stored in
this WS folder
like:

Volume in drive C is WS222_AQUA Serial number is 3D6A:4B19
Directory of C:\WS\*

15.12.01 14.09

0 .
15.12.01 14.09 0 ..
15.12.01 14.09 336 PAGING
15.12.01 14.09 445 SPOOL
15.12.01 14.09 334 SWAP
15.12.01 14.11 573 SYS
15.12.01 14.12 381 TEMP
15.12.01 14.12 380 TMP
15.12.01 14.12 894 TOOLS

Few of these folders you know form your system also. I moved them
from root to these workstation specific location with changing of
their
entries in the CONFIG.SYS.

Subdirectory Tools keeps followings:

WS222 ** AQUA >> C:\ws\tools >dir

Volume in drive C is WS222_AQUA Serial number is 3D6A:4B19
Directory of C:\ws\tools\*

15.12.01 14.12

0 .
15.12.01 14.12 0 ..
15.12.01 14.12 312 GTU
31.01.02 17.17 312 Graham
15.12.01 14.12 422 LOGview

15.12.01 14.12 312 UM
15.12.01 14.12 1'090 WarpIN

UM contains 2 subdirectories:
51 plus 40: The current version and the previous version.
I always do keep the previous generation / version for security
reason ;-)

Well I stop here.
Hope your reinstallation will be successfull and you get it
working properly ;-))

Cheers, svobi

Subject: SCOUG-Help: Unimaint updating

I ypgraded Unimaint from 5.10.xx to 5.10.23 by installing the
upgrade over
the existing files.. What a mess.

The baseline.txt file is supposed to show all files that were
installed. I
can't find uni.cfg anywhere. getlevel.exe is in g:\unimaint
instead of
g:\unimaint\install. These files are in C:\ and
G:\unimanit\install\:

shsinst.exe
shsinst.hlp
shsinst.inf
U5101155.csd
acresdereg.cmd
csd_inst.txt

When I browsed, no subsidiary folders or files appeared in
g:\unimaint;
instead I got only c:\ and one file, shsinst. I installed
Unimaint on c:\
initially and then moved it to its present location on g:\; I
think I just
deleted the files on c:\ then reinstalled on g:\. Is it possible
the
files in C:\ were left over from the installation on c:\?

The installation did not replace the g:\unimaint\infozip\ or the
g:\unimaint\txt\ files with the later and frequently larger ones
listed in
baseline.txt.

acresdereg.cmd apparently deregisters something the upgrade did
not. I
ran it and noticed that it said to reboot and apply the CSD
again. (I
rebooted but have not applied the CSD again. Do I have to? I
also
haven't added the line SET UNIMAINT=C:\OS2\OS2.INI and rebooted
to repair
the bug in Uniwatch which keeps it from finding the Unimaint
OS2.ini
entry>)

What did I do wrong or what am I misunderstanding?

Thanks
Jack
