Jeffrey's answer is correct.  
An xDSL connection generally offers somewhat less of 10Mb of  
speed !!!  
Connecting to the WWW it's not a problem !!  
Connected to an network 10/100Mb the faster unit would be better !

Depends on your use.  I am just connecting to DSL at 128kb/s so  
the 10 mb/s limit doesn't bind.   If you were on a VERY fast  
internal network it might matter, if you have to move a lot of  
big files.  
 
I got my first such card at the MIT Amateur Radio Society Flea  
Market  
for $5 (no dox).
